IMF-tanzaniaAccording to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Tanzania is included in the list of countries that were the least affected by the international financial and economic crisis and, in spite of fact that the Government of Tanzania was unable to meet its 2008/09 revenue target by 10 percent, the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently announced that some of the key contributing sectors to the Tanzania economy were able to record modest growth during the first quarter of last year.

tanapa-tanzania-parksNegotiations with several villages surrounding the Tanzania Tarangire National Park has resulted in at least three of the villages agreeing to re-demarcate the boundaries, relocate and give their land to the park in order to make it possible for  Tarangire to be enlarged. Following the expansion process, the park will incorporate a major forest, which is expected to not only provide extra protection to the area, but also to act as a new feature that will attract future visitors to the park.

China-Tanzania Economic Trade Cooperation Developments Print E-mail

china-tanzaniaPlans to further develop the Sino-Tanzanian economic and trade cooperation have been proposed by the Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming during a recent meeting with Tanzanian government officials. According to Mr. Deming, proof that the current bilateral economic and trade cooperation is developing quickly is demonstrated by the fact that China's imports from Tanzania increased by 46.7 percent during the first 11 months of 2009 and by the fact that the country received more than USD 200 million in Chinese direct investments.
