The Daily News has recently reported that the Government of Tanzania has renewed its pledge that, beginning next year, the development of Tanzania infrastructure will be financed through Eurobonds, which are the equivalent of sovereign bonds that are issued in a currency other than the currency that is issued in a particular country or market.

The Tanzania engineering consultancy firm, Inter-Consult, has been accredited with an ISO in Civil Engineering Consultancy services, thus becoming the first country in East Africa to receive such certification.

The firm was given this certification after a thorough audit on its quality control system showed that it had sufficiently met the strict requirements of international standards.

The Tanzania construction sector has received 76,169,427.49 Euro from the government of Denmark to be applied to the cost of repairing the 150 km of TANZAM highway, which runs between Morogoro and Iringa. Supervision of the project will be handled by COWI-Denmark Consulting Engineers and Planners Limited and will be executed by Per Aarsleff Contractors of Denmark in association with Tanroads.
