Negotiations with several villages surrounding the Tanzania Tarangire National Park has resulted in at least three of the villages agreeing to re-demarcate the boundaries, relocate and give their land to the park in order to make it possible for Tarangire to be enlarged. Following the expansion process, the park will incorporate a major forest, which is expected to not only provide extra protection to the area, but also to act as a new feature that will attract future visitors to the park.

Following his recent week-long trip to several of the Caribbean islands including Cuba, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, ETurboNews (ETN) has reported that Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete believes that the Tanzania tourism industry can learn a lot from the Caribbean beach tourism.

According to a recent report by The Citizen, Tanzania tourism stakeholders in the country’s Mwanza district had scheduled a meeting in the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) conference hall in order to discuss potential strategies for the promotion of tourism in the region, which is made up of 68 percent water, based on its inclusion of the Lake Victoria water body.

According to a recent report by The East African, in spite of the negative impact of the global financial crisis on the Tanzania tourism sector, the country is still planning to continue with plans to construct two ultra-modern centers in Dar es Salaam and Arusha that will target conference tourism in the two major cities.

The Guardian has recently reported a plan for eight villages, located around the Enduimet Game Controlled Area in the Longido District near Arusha, to build their own addition to the Tanzania tourism sector, in the form of a new state-of-the-art five-star tourist hotel.

Plans for the Tanzania tourism sector to welcome two new world class hotels to locations in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar became official yesterday following the signing of two franchise license agreements the Hilton Hotels Corporation franchise Doubletree and the owners of the Opulent Hotel Group.
