Stamico To Sign Tin Trade Agreement With Dar Gold DMCC Ltd Dubai

Kyerwa Tin Company Ltd., a subsidiary of Tanzania State Mining Corporation (Stamico) and Dar Gold DMCC Ltd of Dubai signed a tin mining trade agreement to uplift small scale tin mining industry of Kyerwa district.

The agreement was signed recently in Dar Es Salaam by the Acting Managing Director of Stamico Mr. Edwin Ngonyani.

Stamico’s goal is to improve the livelihoods of small-scale miners.

Mr. Edwin Ngonyani said at the signing event that “Stamico has entered into the agreement to safeguard national interests”.

The coordinator of the project Mr. Raymond Rwehumbiza said that “from now on they would start with a new total of 40 tons of tin tubes under Kayanga Accords pricing system of the world market price”.

Stamico is under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. Stamico was a holding corporation starting with five subsidiary companies which earlier had been under the oversight of the National Development Corporation.
