NMB led all counters by volume with 18,236,217 shares traded, while NMB dominated by turnover, generating TZS 36.06 billion — approximately 69% of the week’s equity turnover, activity that was amplified by the 10:1 stock split effective 24th August.

NMB, CRDB, and VODA have been persistent top-five turnover names across recent weeks.

Bond Market

Bond turnover totaled TZS 35.22 billion across 89 deals, a sharp decline of -15.98% compared to Week 34 of 2026’s TZS 41.92 billion.

The yield curve steepened as the short end fell sharply, with the 5-year yield dropping -213.8 basis points, while the long end proved more resilient, with the 25-year yield easing a comparatively modest -41.3 basis points.

The most pronounced move came at the 10-year tenor, where yields fell -414.5 basis points to close at 10.6527%.
