Leading Maritime Service Provider Gets Pipeline Contract in Tanzania

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has secured a contract for a deep water pipeline project in Tanzania.

The contract will enable ISS to provide support for the construction of a USD 3.2 billion deep water gas pipeline due for completion in December 2014.

The new pipeline, running from Mnazi Bay, Mtwara and Songo Songo in Kilwa District to the capital Dar es Salaam will supply power stations generating 3,900 MW of electricity.

Inchcape Shipping Services are a global company serving a variety of sectors including oil, cruise and governmental clients with 300 offices employing over 3,800 people across 66 countries.

Tanzania is expected to significantly increase its power supplies in the coming years with the Government recently announcing the possibility of achieving a 1,500 MW power surplus by 2015.
