Water Treatment Multinational Wins USD 40 Million Contract in Tanzania

VA Tech Wabag, a Chennai based company specializing in waste water management is expanding into Tanzania.

The deal will see the construction of a 34 million gallon a day water treatment plant located in Upper Ruvu as part of a design and build contract with Dar Es Salaam Water & Sewerage Authority (DAWASA).

The project valued at USD 40 million will be funded by Exim Bank of India under the Indian line of credit.

The decision was partly prompted after the company’s strong results from its existing presence in North Africa, including Egypt and Algeria.
