International Conference on African Entrepreneurship and Small Business Held in Tanzania

The University of Dar Es Salaam hosted last week the 14th International Conference on African Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ICAESM) 2014, attracting about 150 participants across the globe.

The conference aims at providing an international platform to the researchers, business managers and policy makers in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to exchange ideas, promulgate research findings, share experiences and acquire a thorough and updated practical knowledge.

The sub themes of the conference covered global strategies, sustainability in developing countries, domestic growth, financing, communication technology and research.

Participants came from various African and European countries including South Africa, Kenya, Denmark, Uganda, Zambia, Sweden, Netherlands and of course, Tanzania.

The conference culminated in various concrete proposals that can be utilized to strengthen the competitiveness of the SMEs resulting in effective economic growth.
