Oil and Gas Conference 10 Days Away

Tanzania’s Oil and Gas Conference, followed by an exploration-licensing round, will begin on October 25 at the Julies Nyerere International Convention Center, and hundreds of people from 11 countries are currently registered to attend.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Abraham Temu, confirmed on Thursday that those in attendance will be from a variety of sectors including, private investors, company executives, policy makers, students and the civil society.

The conference will include lecturers and presentations about key issues in the oil and gas industry, and the licensing round, officiated by President Jakaya Kikwete himself, will follow.

Seven blocks located in the Indian Ocean and Lake Tanganyika will be opened for bidding by private investors, and bidders will be able to submit proposals until May 2014.

Registration for the conference is still open and a full schedule of events can be viewed here.
