The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) announced that the second phase of the switch from analogical to digital broadcasting is due to start by the end of March 2014 and is expected to last until October this year.
The announcement was made by Prof. John Nkoma, Director General of TCRA at a press conference in Dar es Salaam this week.
According to Prof. Nkoma the switchover was one of the main achievements made by TCRA during its 10 years of operations.
In December 2012, Tanzania became the first country in East Africa Africa to switch off its analogue television signal.
