Air Mauritius Enter Tanzania

Air Mauritius has launched weekly direct flights to Dar es Salaam on 06th May 2016, running every Friday.

The Port Louis (MRU) – Dar es Salaam (DAR) direct flight takes 3h 45m while the Dar es Salaam (DAR) to The Port Louis (MRU) flight stops in Nairobi and takes 6h 30m.

The route is operated with Airbus A319 planes.

Until now, only South African airways and Kenya Airways connected Tanzania with Mauritius via Tambo (Johannesburg) and Nairobi respectively.

Kenya airways serves the route in code sharing with Air Mauritius from Nairobi to Port Louis.

Air Mauritius has also launched direct flights to Maputo in Mozambique on May 4th 2016.

With these news flights Air Mauritius will have a total of 26 weekly flights to Africa.

These new flights will contribute in feeding the Air Corridor that links Africa and Asia via the hubs of Mauritius and Singapore”, says

Air Mauritius is the national carrier of the Republic of Mauritius. Created in 1967, it currently operates a fleet of four A340-300, two A340-300E, two A330-200, two A319-100 and two ATR72-500.

Air Mauritius presently flies to 21 destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Indian Ocean

On February 22nd-23rd 2016 Enterprise Mauritius organized a Contact Promotion Program in Dar es Salaam to discuss partnership, cooperation and investment between the Indian Ocean country and Tanzania.
