Tanzania Inflation Decreases To 4.8% in December 2014

According to The National Bureau of Statistics of Tanzania the Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of December, 2014 decreased to 4.8% from 5.8% in November, 2014.

The National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) which measures the change over time in the cost of a fixed basket of 224 goods and services purchased by a representative sample of households in Tanzania on monthly basis, increased from 144.07 in December 2013 to 150.92 in December 2014.

Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages Inflation Rate has decreased to 5.7% in December 2014 from 7.0% recorded in November 2014.

In addition, the 12 month index change for non food products has decreased to 3.6% in December 2014 from 4.5% recorded in November 2014.

The Annual Inflation Rate which excludes food and energy for the month of December 2014 has increased slightly to 3.1% from 3.0% that was recorded in November2014.
