Tanzania Inflation Decreases To 5.9% in October 2014

According to The National Bureau of Statistics of Tanzania the Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of October, 2014 decreased to 5.9% from 6.6% in September, 2014.

The National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) which measures the change over time in the cost of a fixed basket of 224 goods and services purchased by a representative sample of households in Tanzania on monthly basis, increased from 141.39 in October 2013 to 149.70 in October 2014.

Food and Non Alcoholic Beverages Inflation Rate has decreased to 7.1% in October 2014 from 8.5% recorded in September 2014.

In addition, the 12 month index change for non food products has stagnated at 4.6% in October 2014 as it was also recorded in September 2014.

The Annual Inflation Rate which excludes food and energy for the month of October 2014 has slightly increased to 3.2% from 3/1% that was recorded in September 2014.
