Tanzania Inflation Down in November 2013

According to the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistic (NBS) the Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of November, 2013 has slightly decreased to 6.2% from 6.3% recorded in October, 2013.

The decrease of Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of November, 2013 explains that, the speed of price increase for commodities in November, 2013 has decreased compared to the speed recorded in October, 2013.

However, the overall index went up to 142.23 in November, 2013 from 133.87 recorded in November, 2012.

Food and Non alcoholic beverages Inflation Rate has increased to 7.2% in November, 2013 from 6.9% recorded in October, 2013.

Annual Inflation Rate for food consumed at home and away from home has increased to 7.6% in November, 2013 as compared to 7.3% in October, 2013.

In addition, the 12 month index change for non food products has decreased to 5.7% in November, 2013 as compared to 6.1% recorded in October, 2013.

The Annual Inflation Rate which excludes food and energy for the month of November, 2013 has decreased to 5.3% from 5.7% recorded in October, 2013.
