Tanzania Export Processing Zones Authority Welcomes US Investors in Bagamaoyo

According to Ms. Zawadia Nanyaro Director of Promotion and Facilitation of the Tanzania Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) the coastal city of bagamaoyo, north of Dar es Salaam, is due to receive a major upgrade thanks to EPZA upcoming projects.

A total of 22,000 hectors in Bagamoyo has been reserved for EPZA projects.

Within this framework a US delegation of investors from California and led by Mayor of Vallejo, Mr. Osby Davis visited the region for a 2 days tour to witness the local investment potential.

During the visit Ms Nanyaro said :“We envision Bagaomyo to become an industrial and trade center,”.

She also stated that the biggest port in Tanzania will be built in the region and that this will make Bagamoyo become a major metropolitan centre thriving with businesses and industries.

Also, are new airport and railway line are in the pipeline, in order to create conducive business environment in Bagamoyo.

The US investors showed a particular interest for agribusiness projects and announced they will definitely come back to do business.

Tanzania Monthly Economic Review March 2026: Exports Rise 12.8% as Gold Jumps 38.5%, Manufacturing Up 32% and Tourism Receipts Reach USD 4.3 billion

Tanzania’s Monthly Economic Review for March 2026 shows export earnings rose 12.8% to USD 18.6 billion, driven by a 38.5% increase in gold exports to USD 5.2 billion, a 32% rise in manufactured goods exports to USD 1.8 billion, and stronger service receipts from tourism and transport. Travel earnings reached USD 4.3 billion, transport receipts rose to USD 2.7 billion, and traditional exports also increased.
