Stanbic Bank Tanzania has renovated its universal full-service branch in Arusha, in order to offer best-in-class banking services to its clients.

Speaking during the launch event today, graced by the Arusha Regional Commissioner, Hon. Mrisho Gambo, Stanbic Bank Tanzania’s Chief Executive, Ken Cockerill said: “We recognize that in order to achieve our own growth aspirations, we need to empower the financial success of our clients and the communities in which we operate.”

Arusha Regional Commissioner, Hon. Mrisho Gambo applauded the banks initiative to empower the region’s financial success and promised to provide his full support to the bank saying “The government notices and appreciate your input in the financial sector and I call for my people in Arusha to bank with Stanbic Bank for it has no any maneuvers”.

The Bank’s CEO also noted that “The renovation of our branch in Arusha will assist in enhancing the overall client experience in this important region, which is popularly known as the ‘Geneva of Africa’.”

Apart from a complete overhaul of the look and feel of the branch, the renovation also includes additional parking space and a new private banking suite.

Tanzania's banking sector recorded net profit after tax of TZS 1.38 trillion in H1 2026, up 13% from H1 2025, on total assets of TZS 91.3 trillion. Yas Owner Axian To Acquire 100% Of Tanzanian Lender Letshego Faidika Bank

Axian, the group behind Yas mobile operator, is acquiring 100% of Letshego Faidika Bank Tanzania, a licensed Tier II commercial bank, with the transaction now under review by the country's Fair Competition Commission. The deal forms part of Letshego Africa Holdings' disposal of its Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda and Uganda subsidiaries agreed on 27 April 2026, and would add a banking licence to a group that already operates the country's second-largest mobile money service.
