The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Launched Traffic Monitoring System

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) launched at the end of February 2014 its Telecommunications Traffic Monitoring System (TTMS).

The system is aimed at monitoring the quality of the service provided by mobile telecom companies in Tanzania as well as controlling tax revenues.

The TTMS system has been installed and is currently operated by SGC/GVG of Switzerland under a Build Operate Transfer Agreement under which after 5 years the system will be transferred to TCRA.

The system also oversees Mobile Money Transfer transactions and allows for their taxation.
