Precision Air Launches New ATR 42-600 Aircraft

Precision Air, the largest Tanzanian airline, serving almost one million passengers, flying to a record of 14 destinations in Tanzania, reached another milestone today.

The air carrier, with great pride, launched their new aircraft, the ATR 42-600.

Precision Air is the first airline company to fly this prestigious aircraft.

This is the first of five aircraft deliveries expected before the end of 2014, bring the total investment to USD 220 million.

The ceremonial launch was led by the Chairman of Precision Air, Michael Ngaleku Shirima, Executives from ATR and above all, the Honourable Minister for Transport Dr Harrison Mwakyembe who was very proud and congratulatory of the inroads and success of Precision Air.

As a deeply grateful gesture, Mr. Shirima gifted His Honourable Minister Mwakyembe with the first ticket for the first flight, flying today to the newly opened Mbeya airport, celebrating another momentous occasion together.

In his speech of congratulations, Mr. Shirima also thanked his collaborators in the aviation industry: Tanzania Cicvil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) and Tanzania Air Operators Association (TAOA).

But most of all, he mentioned how proud he was that Precision Air was Tanzanian and of all of his colleagues who focus and give Tanzanian hospitality combined with safety and efficiency.
