Tigo Tanzania has issued its latest quarterly payment of USD 1.80 million to its Tigo Pesa customers as a part of their quarterly profit share distribution program that was launched in July 2014 and that has already resulted in a total of USD 11.30 million in payments.
According to the Interim General Manager for Tigo, Cecile Tiano, who recently spoke with the East African Business Week, the company’s profit distribution program is intended to improve the welfare of their customers and explained that the average return is based on the daily balance in the customer’s Tigo Pesa e-wallet.
“We are very excited once again to be announcing this profit distribution to our Tigo Pesa users, she said, “We believe that this fourth quarter Tigo Pesa profit share distribution that was effected on January 15 will be a welcome relief to millions of Tigo Pesa users.”
Tigo Tanzania is currently the only mobile network to participate in profit sharing with its customers with payments issued based on the interest generated on deposits in the Tigo Pesa Trust, which manages accounts for the service.
