Tanzania Rated Top Safari Destination In Africa

Tanzania has been named “Top-Rated Safari Country” in Africa by safaribooking.com as per the reviews and ratings, coming first before the popular safari destinations of South Africa, Kenya and Botswana.

According to the Netherlands based website, Tanzania earned 188 reviews with 4.8 rating out of a 5 star rating followed by Botswana getting 136 reviews with a 4.7 rating, Kenya getting 148 reviews with 4.6 rating, Zambia with 62 reviews and a 4.6 rating, South Africa with 191 reviews and a 4.5 rating, Namibia with 64 reviews and a 4.5 rating, Uganda with 86 reviews and a 4.2 rating and Zimbabwe with 66 reviews and a 4.1 rating.

Tanzania Minister for Tourism and Natural Resources, Mr. Lazaro Nyalandu said to local media recently that the positive results are the result of the steps taken by the government and the nation towards tourism and conservation and in protection of our natural resources against poaching.

Mr. Nyalandu also mentioned that the results should be directed to enable the tourism sector become the number one contributor to the nation’s economy.

Tanzania being the largest country in East Africa is bestowed with continent’s highest mountain called the historical Spice Islands of Zanzibar, the world’s largest game reserve and the most famous national parks.

Tanzania’s tourist arrivals rose 1.7 % in 2013 to 1.095 million, earning the country USD 1.85 billion.
