Regional Counselor of Tanga, Chiku Galawa, has announced plans to man every district council in the region with an Investment Officer who will work with visitors that come to scope out investment opportunities.
The goal of establishing Investment Officers is to ease the bureaucratic processes that foreign investors face, thus making the establishment of new business in Tanga more desirable.
Mrs. Galawa commented that this plan was developed to fulfill resolutions reached during last month’s Northern Zone Investment Forum in Tanga.
She said the forum will attract new foreign direct investors, and that the region must be prepared to receive them and assure their interests to invest in Tanga region are met with precise and quick service.
An implementation date has not yet been announced.
