Tanzania Ports Authority Assures Zambia Traders Of Cargo Security

In light of recent challenges that Zambia traders have faced at the port of Dar es Salaam, the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) has assured them of the safety of their cargo with the announcement of enhanced security measures and a pledge to provide the Zambia business community with timely and efficient services.

According to Janeth Ruzangi, acting TPA corporate communications manager, the port has not witnessed or recorded pilferage of cargo since 2012 and the TPA was currently working to close any remaining loop holes by acquiring an integrated security system that will put surveillance cameras throughout the all areas of the port.

“Theft is now zero-tolerance among port players and TPA is compliant to international security for ports and ships which defines port as a restricted area,” she said.
