Tanzania Ups Again its Natural Gas Reserves Estimates

The Ministry of Energy and Minerals announced that it expects Tanzania’s natural gas resources to increase fivefold by 2015.

This raises the estimates from 40 trillion cubic feet already discovered by oil and gas corporations including Statoil, to 200 trillion cubic feet.

Earlier this year Statoil raised recoverable resource estimates to 13 trillion cubic feet for discovery in Tanzania’s Block 2.
