Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) total turnover during the week ending July 24th, 2015 increased by +4.62 % to TZS 5,848,507,540 from TZS 5,589,880,075 the previous week. Total Market Capitalisation reached TZS 22,952.36 billion (-1.58%). 

Tanzania Share Index (TSI) closed at 2,581.71 points (-1.55%).

Industrial & Allied index (IA) closed at 6,065.23 points (%0.007).

Tanzania Investment Guide 2026 Free Edition

Banks Finance & Investment index (BI) closed at 3,039.81 points (-1.86%).

Trading activitiies were seen on CRDB, TBL, TWIGA, SWISSPORT and NMB counters.

Tanzania's Treasury bills auction on 9 September 2026 drew bids of TZS 690.50 billion against a TZS 288.70 billion offer, an oversubscription of TZS 401.80 billion, with the 364-day tenor covered 3.78x at 6.4735%. The shilling firmed 0.04% to TZS 2,637.97 per US dollar, the interbank 7-day rate rose to 6.75%, and outstanding government securities reached TZS 33,227.33 billion.

Tanzania's financial markets closed the week to 4 September 2026 with the 10-year Treasury bond yield at 10.6924%, up from 10.3861%, after investors tendered TZS 364.96 billion against TZS 182.90 billion offered. The shilling appreciated 0.16% to TZS 2,638.96 per US dollar, retail foreign exchange turnover rose to USD 668.24 million from USD 544.24 million, and outstanding government securities reached TZS 33,010.54 billion.

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange total market capitalisation surpassed TZS 40 trillion for the first time in its history during Week 37 of 2026, closing at TZS 40.61 trillion, a +2.97% weekly gain that extends a four-month rally of roughly +22% from TZS 33.26 trillion at end-May 2026. Equity turnover fell -29.31% to TZS 61.07 billion, with TCCL (+10.28%), NMB (+8.42%), and TCC (+6.67%) leading gainers while DCB (-9.18%), TTP (-5.26%), and KCB (-4.50%) topped decliners. The DSEI advanced +2.97% and the Banks, Finance & Investment index rose +7.04%. Bond market turnover reached TZS 81.01 billion, down -34.76% week-on-week.
