TIC New Boss Gilead Teri Committed To Solve Investor’s Challenges in Tanzania

Gilead Teri, the new Executive Director of the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC)-the one-stop shop for investors in Tanzania-has pledged the agency’s management to formulate innovative solutions that would enhance performance in investment facilitation and promotion.

Teri has been appointed recently by H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan to lead the country’s investment agency that has been recently moved from under her portfolio, from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Speaking for the first time with the TIC management team, Teri insisted on using technology to accelerate business and investment processes.

He stressed that technology provides assurance in enhancing service delivery and will boost daily transactions and will provide TIC with efficient and affordable approaches to accelerate its duties.

He also called for effective and innovative ways in conducting meetings with global TIC stakeholders to speed up the momentum to push the investment promotion agenda.

Gilead Teri holds a master’s degree in International Development from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

He previously worked for the World Bank (WB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), where he gained hands-on experience in financing, investment climate, and public-private policy engagement.

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) was established in 1997 to be the primary agency of the Government to coordinate, encourage, promote, and facilitate investment in Tanzania and to advise the Government on investment policy and related matters.
