The four-day trading week ending Friday, 11th April 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a decline in market activity, with turnover dropping by -63.25% to TZS 4,813.16 million from 2,373,651 shares traded. AFRIPRISE led the gainers with a 4.35% increase in its stock price, while MKCB was the biggest loser, declining by -6.90%.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 15 of 2025, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded a total turnover of TZS 4,813.16 million from 2,373,651 shares traded across 3,354 deals. The week had four trading days due to Karume Day on 7th April, which contributed to the -63.23% decrease in turnover compared to TZS 13,093.20 million recorded in Week 14. Trading volume also decreased by -42.44% from 4,124,349 shares traded the previous week.

Market Capitalization

At the end of Week 15, 2025, the total market capitalization at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) stood at TZS 19,062.30 billion, reflecting a -0.76% decrease from TZS 19,210.14 billion recorded in Week 14. Meanwhile, domestic market capitalization increased slightly to TZS 12,983.30 billion, marking a 0.10% rise from TZS 12,969.82 billion in the previous week.

Bond Market

The bond market recorded a total turnover of TZS 139.15 billion across 138 deals during Week 15 of 2025, reflecting a 186.90% increase compared to TZS 48.50 billion in Week 14. Trading activity was dominated by 20-year and 25-year bonds, which accounted for the majority of the turnover.

The total turnover for corporate bonds reached TZS 398.80 million, with activity recorded on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Indexes

Week 15 of 2025 saw mixed performance across indices at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE). The Industrial & Allied Index (IA) recorded the highest increase, rising by 0.25%, followed by the Tanzania Share Index (TSI), which increased by 0.10%. The All Share Index (DSEI) dropped by -0.77%, while the Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) declined slightly by -0.02%, and the Commercial Services Index (CS) remained unchanged.
