According to Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) CEO, Moremi Marwa, up to six companies are expected to list at the Tanzanian stock exchange in 2015, mostly banks and micro-finance corporations.
Talking during a recent interview, Marwa indicated that four listing are expected on the Enterprise Growth Market (EGM) and one or two on the Main Investmetn Market (MIM).
Tanzania EGM was established to make listing at DSE easier as share capital requirement is lower than listing at the main market, operability or profitability are not necessary and minimum floating is 20% of share.
Moremi also said requirements for mobile telecoms companies operating in Tanzania to list at DSE were awaiting approval.
The latest listing at DSE was Mkombozi Commercial Bank (MCB) on 29th December 2014, whose opening share price recorded a 50% increase during the first day of trading surging from TZS 1,000 to TZS 1,500.
The DSE All Share Index and total market capitalization have grown at a consistence compounded annual growth rate of above 20% in the past three years.
During the same period the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) that tracks and measures the performance of domestic listed companies grew by about 150% .
