The trading week ending Friday, 21st February 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw an increase in market activity, with turnover rising by 63.66%, while NICO led the gainers with a 17.24% increase in its stock price.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 8 of 2025, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded a total of 3,130 deals, contributing to the total turnover of TZS 14,171.96 million from 10,126,703 shares traded.

This represents a 63.62% increase in turnover compared to TZS 8,661.39 million recorded in Week 7, while trading volume decreased by -29.04% from 14,271,140 shares traded the previous week.

Market Capitalization

At the end of Week 8, 2025, the total market capitalization at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) stood at TZS 19,043.24 billion, reflecting a 0.71% increase from TZS 18,907.38 billion recorded in Week 7.

Meanwhile, domestic market capitalization increased to TZS 12,731.23 billion, marking a 1.02% rise from TZS 12,602.18 billion in the previous week

Bond Market

The bond market recorded a total turnover of TZS 23.16 billion across 47 deals during Week 8 of 2025, reflecting a -56.60% decrease compared to TZS 53.37 billion in Week 7.

Trading activity was again dominated by 20-year and 25-year bonds, accounting for most of the turnover.

The total turnover for corporate bonds reached TZS 60.00 million.

Indexes

Week 8 of 2025 saw a positive performance across key indices at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).

The All Share Index (DSEI) increased by 0.71%, the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) grew by 1.01%, and the Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) rose by 2.17%.

The Industrial & Allied Index (IA) posted a slight gain of 0.35%, while the Commercial Services Index (CS) remained unchanged.

Stock Performances

Week 8 of 2025 saw mixed performance among stocks at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).
