The trading week ending Friday, 28th February 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a significant decline in market activity, with turnover dropping by -64.32%, while SWIS led the gainers with a 10.00% increase in its stock price.

Turnover and Volume

During Week 9 of 2025, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded a total of 3,651 deals, contributing to the total turnover of TZS 5,055.99 million from 3,556,792 shares traded.

This represents a -64.32% decrease in turnover compared to TZS 14,171.96 million recorded in Week 8, while trading volume decreased by -64.88% from 10,126,703 shares traded the previous week.

Market Capitalization

At the end of Week 9, 2025, the total market capitalization at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) stood at TZS 19,154.38 billion, reflecting a 0.58% increase from TZS 19,043.24 billion recorded in Week 8.

Meanwhile, domestic market capitalization increased to TZS 12,765.48 billion, marking a 0.27% rise from TZS 12,731.23 billion in the previous week.

Bond Market

The bond market recorded a total turnover of TZS 94.23 billion across 118 deals during Week 9 of 2025, reflecting a 306.87% increase compared to TZS 23.16 billion in Week 8.

Trading activity was again dominated by 20-year and 25-year bonds, accounting for most of the turnover.

The total turnover for corporate bonds reached TZS 80.00 million.

Indexes

Week 9 of 2025 saw a positive performance across key indices at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).

The All Share Index (DSEI) increased by 0.58%, the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) grew by 0.27%, and the Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) rose by 0.61%.

The Industrial & Allied Index (IA) remained unchanged, while the Commercial Services Index (CS) posted a slight gain of 0.20%.

Stock Performances
