Tanzania Weekly Market Report 22nd to 25th April, 2014

According to the Weekly Market Report of the trading week ending on 25th April, 2014 issued by CORE Securities, named East Africa Best Advisory Brokerage by Capital Finance International, the Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange total turnover increased by +8% to TZS 2,482.65 million from 2,295.39 million the previous week. Both local and foreign investors participated in the market.

Foreign Investors participated by 0.03% while local Investors by 99.97%.

On Friday 25th April 2014 the TSI Closed at 2,988.22 (+0.76%), IA closed at 3,537.85 (-0.32%) and BI Closed at 2,722.56 (-8.20%) points.

Most of activities were seen on CRDB, NMB& TBL counters.

Gold 

On Friday 25th April Closing Spot gold Price was was up by 1.95% to TZS 68,881 per gram, from TZ 67,654 a week before. 

Forex

On the week close Friday 25th April 1USD=TZS 1,634.79 (BOT mean rate),  compared to TZS 1,628.15  a week earlier.

Inflation

The annual headline inflation rate for the month of March 2014 increased to 6.1% from 6.0% in the previous month (February 2014).
