South African President Zuma Concludes Visit To Tanzania

South African President Jacob Zuma has concluded a scheduled two-day visit to Uganda and Tanzania during which time he held talks with Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete aimed at consolidating the African Agenda by strengthening their bilateral political, economic, and social relations.

According to Mac Maharaj, a spokesperson for the South African President, discussions between the leaders included security issues on African borders.

“The purpose of the visit is to engage with the presidents of the two countries on peace and security matters on the African continent and discuss other issues of mutual interest,” he said, “The visit takes place in context of consolidating the African agenda.”

Following his meeting with President Kikwete, President Zuma was scheduled to continue to Uganda to hold talks with President Yoweri Museveni in an effort to strengthen relations to the mutual benefit of all three African countries.
