Tanzanian Private Sector Looks at Agriculture and Education

Godfrey Simbeye, the Executive Director of Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) announced that Tanzania’s private sector is ready to collaborate with the agriculture and education sectors.

The announcement was made at the recent workshop on Public Private Partnership (PPP) awareness in Dar es Salaam.

The concept of PPP entails an arrangement between the public and private sector entities whereby the private entity renovates, constructs, operates, maintains, and/or manages a facility, in whole or in part, in accordance with specified output specifications.

The private entity assumes the associated risks for a significant period of time and in return, receives benefits and financial remuneration according to agreed terms.

Mr Simbeye added, that at later stage, the private sector would consider larger projects such as infrastructure development in railway and ports.
