Tanzania Inflation Slow Down To 6.4% in June 2014

According to The National Bureau of Statistics of Tanzania the Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of June, 2014 slowed down to 6.4% from 6.5% in May, 2014.

The National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) which measures the change over time in the cost of a fixed basket of 224 goods and services purchased by a representative sample of households in Tanzania on monthly basis, decreased from 149.89 in May 2014 to 148.98 in June 2014.

Food and Non Alcoholic  Beverages Inflation Rate has decreased to 8.1% in June, 2014 from 8.7% recorded in May,  2014.

In addition, the 12 month index change  for non food products has increased to 4.8% in June, 2014 from 4.1% recorded in May, 2014.

The Annual Inflation Rate which excludes food and energy for the month of June, 2014 has  stagnated at 3.5% as it was recorded in May, 2014.
