Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture To Launch Savings Cooperative Society

The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) confirmed the launch of the savings and credit cooperatives society (SACCOS) for the chamber soon in Dar Es Salaam.

The Executive Director of the Chamber Mr. Getfried Muganda told to local media recently that they have started to register members and have recruited staff as per demand to run the office.

According to Getfried Muganda SACCOS would enable the Chamber’s members to access cheap loans and use them to grow their businesses.

The authorization of the establishment of the credit society was given at the annual general meeting held in Dar Es Salaam last year.

TCCIA Dar Es Salaam Regional Chamber chairman Mr. Francis Lukwaro said during the annual general meeting that credit cooperative society is needed to strengthen the operations of the regional office with a specific focus on raising the chamber’s awareness in the business community and increasing the membership across all levels and sectors.

The TCCIA Dar Es Salaam region has more than 1,200 members from industries, agriculture and services.
