Equity Turnover and Volume

Equity turnover reached TZS 20.63 bn, down -16.96% from the previous week’s TZS 24.84 bn. Share volume rose to 16.67 m from 9.32 m, an increase of +78.95%.

CRDB dominated activity with 13.09 m shares, followed by DCB (1.35 m) and TBL (0.69 m), together accounting for 91% of total volume.

Bond Market

Bond turnover totalled TZS 106.73 bn, up +77.03% from Week 29’s TZS 60.29 bn.

Government securities amounted to about TZS 106.61 bn across 89 deals, led by 20-year 15.25% paper worth TZS 21.00 bn (25 Jul), 20-year 15.49% issues totalling TZS 15.24 bn (25 Jul), and a 25-year 15.75% tranche of TZS 11.10 bn (23 Jul).

Corporate bonds contributed roughly TZS 0.12 bn from 17 deals in 3-, 5- and 10-year notes priced between ~85% and 100% of face value.

Indexes

Only the Banks, Finance & Investment Index (BI) posted a gain, up +0.26%, while the Industrial & Allied Index (IA) led decliners at -1.64%. The All-Share Index (DSEI) eased -0.29%, the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) fell -0.66%, and the Commercial Services Index (CS) dropped -1.21%.
