Ecobank Tanzania Seduces Customers with Prizes

Within the increasingly competitive banking sector in Tanzania, banks aggressively seduce clients with innovative products and services as well as prizes.

Ecobank Tanzania’s commitment to reward its clients’ loyalty plays a crucial part in the bank’s intention to deliver a great customer service experience together with innovating products and services.

Targeting the public including individuals, sole proprietors and SME customer, Ecobank’s promotion started in June 2012 running to the end of the year. It recently concluded the ‘Win Big with Ecobank’ promotion, by awarding one if its clients with a Hyundai Tucson ix35 SUV.

With deposits as low as TZS 100,000 (USD 62), Ecobank customers were entered in the monthly draw. This saw them rewarded with other additional prizes every month; Ipads, laptops, fully paid holiday tickets and shopping vouchers.

In Dar es Salaam on 03 February 2013 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, Ecobank Tanzania introduced new products to promote Sino-Tanzanian Trade.

Ecobank Tanzania is part of the Ecobank Group, present in 35 countries including 33 African countries, and a distribution network of approximately 1,200 branches and over 1,500 ATMs.

The bank strives to be a one-stop service bank in the Sub-Saharan African region. It provides a full range of products and services including investment banking, commercial trade, business and personal banking.

Tanzania Banking Sector Q1 2026 Performance: Net Profit Up 16% to TZS 671 Billion, Top Five Banks Hold 60–65% of Assets

Tanzania's banking sector recorded net profit after tax of TZS 671 billion in Q1 2026, up 16% from TZS 580 billion in Q1 2025, on total assets of TZS 84.6 trillion, according to AML Finance Limited. CRDB profit rose 19% to TZS 206 billion and NMB reached TZS 193 billion, while the top 5 banks now hold 60–65% of total sector assets, with average ROE at 10.6% and NPL at 6.5%.
